어둠 속에서 한 순간에 '오늘'이 '어제'가 되어 지나가고 다시 새로운 '오늘'이 시작되는 시간 0시 자정(子正). 해가 지고 달빛이 스산한 분위기를 자아내기 시작하는 이 자정은 활기차고 이성적인 현실이 마감됨과 동시에 감성이 고개를 들고 비현실적인 시간이 시작되는 듯 하다. 도사리고 있었던 무서운 무언가는 꼭 이 때 등장하고 동서고금을 막론하고 기괴하고 기묘한 사건이 일어나는 주된 시간적 배경이 되어오기도 했다.

‘핸즈 인 팩토리(Hands In Factory)’는 이러한 자정의 어둡고 공포스러운 분위기를, ‘트웰브닷(TwelveDot)’은 현실과 비현실의 경계에서의 몽환적인 하룻밤의 꿈을 각각 컨셉으로 잡고 이번 MIDNIGHT 듀엣 전시를 기획하고 작업을 했다. 아트토이라는 장르가 장난감과 예술, 그리고 아이와 어른의 모호한 경계선에 서있는 것과 같이 어제와 오늘의 사이, 현실과 꿈의 사이를 오가는 시간인 ‘Midnight’은 그들이 가장 선명하게 보여지는 시간일지도 모르겠다.핸즈인팩토리는 디자인과 디렉팅을 맡은 UpTEMPO(이재헌), 모델링과 후반 작업을 맡은 RocKOON(박태준)으로 이루어진 아트토이 팀이다. 포식자를 피해서 항상 달려야만 살아 남을 수 있는 소, 영양, 뿔이 달린 초식동물들을 소재로 하여 현대인의 삶을 투영하며 삶 속에서의 고난과 성취, 깨달음 등을 담아내고 있다.

트웰브닷(임현승)은 멸종위기에 있는 생물이자 환경지표종인 양서류, 개구리를 주된 소재로 작업하는 작가이다. 투명하고 맑은 개구리의 피부, 색감과 민첩하고 예민하게 움직임에서 나오는 조형미에 대한 관심에서 시작하여 점차 다양한 방향으로 확산되어 나가는 것들을 아트토이를 매체로 많은 사람들과 나누고자 한다.

이번 전시를 통해 베이비 혼즈 스페셜 에디션 "NIGHTMARE"와 DAY WRAITH 200%의 CLEAR버젼, 그리고 MIDNIGHT APO PROGS 시리즈의 할로윈 버젼 Pumpkin Pie"와 스페셜 에디션 "The Ghosts of Fallen Frogs”를 선보인다. 또한 DUCOBI, KIDDO, Runcher Kim, Semen 10cm, OSHO RINO, TOINZ와 같은 다양한 분야, 다른 성향의 아티스트들과 협업한 작품들도 볼 수 있다.

'Hands in Factory' tells the stories of the dark horrors of midnight and 'Twelve Dot' tells the stories of the foggy one night dream between realities. Together they bring a duet exhibition 'Midnight". As Toy Art is a genre between toy and art and stands amongst the vague border between young and old, the time between yesterday and today, between reality and dream is when their work may be the most evident.

Hands in Factory is a team of UpTempo (JaeHun Lee) as the designer and director and RockOON(TaeJoon Park) as the modeler and post -production artist. They reflect the struggle, achievement and enlight enment within our modern day life using herbivores such as cows, wildebeests and other horned animals that constantly deviate from its predator for survival.

Twelve Dot (HyungSeung Lim) works with frogs, endangered amphibians, as his subject matter. His initial interest was in the transparency and purity of the skin texture and color and the beauty of it form in its agility and sensitivity. He then expanded into various directions and hopes to share this through toy art as a medium.

'Midnight' presents Baby Horns special edition 'Nightmare', the Clear version of Day Wrath 200% and the Halloween version of Midnight Apo Progs series 'Pumpkin Pie' and 'The Ghosts of Fallen Frogs'. Additional collaborations with various artists such as DUCOBI, KIDDO, Runcher Kim, Semen 10cm, OSHO RINO, TOINZ will also be presented.
